A Vision for Transit - Illinois’ Thoughts
I often wonder if Michigan has a vision for what our transit system should be. By vision, I’m not talking anything that would make for a good Ph’d thesis. Don’t get me wrong, at some point someone should do their thesis on Michigan transit … good ideas come from those things - so I’m told by friends of mine who have Ph’d’s.
I think Michigan needs something similar to what the Transit Riders’s Alliance has put together. According to their website:
“The Transit Riders’ Alliance is a project of the Midwest High Speed Rail Association, a member supported non-profit advocating for fast, frequent and dependable trains linking the entire Midwest.
We are working to unite local transit riders, railroad passengers and intercity bus riders into a group powerful enough to change transportation policy at both the state and federal levels.”
